A gene on chromosome 1p36.31 that encodes a polynucleotide 5'-kinase involved in rRNA processing. NOL9 has both DNA and RNA 5'-kinase activities.

Citrix expanded its focus on the SSL VPN market with the acquisition of Net6 in December 2004 and launched the Citrix Access Gateway(TM) SSL VPN to Citrix's more than 5,000 channel partners in January 2005.
Thirumale is one of the co-founders and former CEO of Net6, which Citrix acquired in 2004.
In the fourth quarter, Citrix acquired Net6, now the Citrix Gateways division, extending Citrix's reach in the SSL VPN (secure socket layer virtual private network) and IP (internet protocol) telephony markets.
