nanospray

nanospray

A miniaturised electrospray ionisation source using a drawn and coated glass capillary as the spray tip, which achieves a flow rate of 20–50 nL/min—lower than the usual electrospray ionisation source used in mass spectrometry.

There are parallels between the processes in the MasSpec Pen, nanospray DESI (4), and liquid microjunction (LMJ) MS interface (5), also used for tissue analysis.
Despite its name, nanospray DESI (nano-DESI) is based on a different instrumental configuration compared to the traditional DESI: its setup presents two different silica capillaries, one for solvent delivery and the other devoted to the formation of charged liquid spray in front of the MS inlet.
Ions were directly introduced by nanospray and spectra were collected using Xcalibur 2.0 software using an intensity threshold of 200 counts.
After the required conditions had been met, the clear solution was transferred to a dry nanospray dryer, peristaltic pump with an inlet temperature of 120[degrees]C and an outlet temperature of 64[degrees]C and delivered to a drying zone with a 4 [micro]m nozzle diameter.
LC-MS/MS experiments were performed using a Bruker micrOTOF-Q III mass spectrometer (Bruker Daltonik GmbH, Leipzig, Germany) equipped with a nanospray source and Agilent 1100 high-performance liquid chromatography system (Agilent Technologies, Livermore, CA).
A 1 [micro]g aliquot of each sample was subjected to 1D-nano LC ESI-MSMS analysis using an Eksigent Technologies nanoLC Ultra 1D plus nano liquid chromatography system coupled to high-speed TripleTOF 5600 mass spectrometer (SCIEX) with a Nanospray III source.
M2 PHARMA-May 26, 2015-Sciex Partners with New Objective on Nanospray Ionisation in Mass Spectrometry Systems
Nanospray liquid chromatography-tandem MS analysis was performed on an Agilent 1100 HPLC system (Agilent, Palo Alto, California) and a QStar XL mass spectrometer (AB/Sciex).
The chromatography system was coupled to an LTQ Orbitrap Velos mass spectrometer equipped with a Nanospray II source (Thermo Fisher Scientific).
The HRMS of the products were measured on a LTQ Orbitrap (Thermo Electron) spectrometer (positive ionization, static nanospray, boron silicate emitters Proxeon, resolution 100 000 at m/z 400, external calibration), using acetonitrile as the solvent.
