That same year, we also established a lucrative partnership with NURSYS
to conduct invaluable data-gathering surveys on Georgia's nursing population, which greatly benefits from this information-sharing project by the National Council for State Boards of Nursing.
This includes, but is not limited to, continuing education requirements, violations and disciplinary issues, criminal background checks (MT BON recently passed legislation 2015 for criminal background checks but not all states have same requirements) and not all states participate in the NURSYS system (provides online verification to a nurse requesting to practice in another state and nurse license lookup reports to employers and the general public).
Violations and discipline in one of the few states that do not participate in NURSYS will not appear in that system.

Employers can easily verify a nurse's RN and PN license, as well as their compact status, through NURSYS
NURSYS is hosted and maintained by the National Council for State Boards of Nursing.
NURSYS is a user-friendly public website whereby anyone may search for certain information about nurses, including their history for disciplinary actions.
In the future, multi-state sources of nursing licensure data, perhaps including the NURSYS
system maintained by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (Poe, 2008) or other initiatives, may help track the nation's licensed RN workforce and determine directly if an RN with an expired license in one state is licensed in another state.
