NPSR1

A gene on chromosome 7p14.3 that encodes a member of the G protein-coupled receptor 1 family which is expressed in respiratory cilia and in bronchial smooth muscle cells in asthmatics; NPSR1 may be active in signalling pathways in an autocrine or paracrine fashion.

Molecular pathology
NPSR1 mutations may play a pathogenetic role in asthma and other IgE-mediated diseases.

As mentioned earlier, previous reports regarding the NPS system have mainly documented the findings obtained with regard to the central nervous system as well as components other than NPS levels, such as NPSR levels and genetic receptor variations, while our results included only the plasma NPS levels, which is a peripheral measure with regard to the NPS/NPSR system.
On the other hand, NPS has been shown to activate hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and increases the release of ACTH (3-5) and mutations that make NPSR more active, for both single nucleotide polymorphisms and mutations at the promoter sequence, causes subjects to be more susceptible to have panic disorder (3-5-10-17).
Moreover, even in those instances where either the Yeltsin government or the opposition claimed victory, given that neither side provided anything but limited resources to candidates, and the NPSR in particular played such a small role in nominating candidates, "party association offered candidates a limited boost at best." As their subsequent actions have demonstrated, "none of the winners were likely to feel strong bonds of loyalty to either camp." (53)
