NPFFR1

A gene on chromosome 10q21-q22 that encodes a receptor for NPAF (A-18-F-amide) and NPFF (F-8-F-amide) neuropeptides (morphine-modulating peptides), which can also be activated by various naturally occurring or synthetic FMRF-amide-like ligands. NPFFR1 mediates its action by associating with G proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system.
