S100A8

A gene on chromosome 1q21 that encodes a member of the S100 family of proteins, which contain 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs and as a group regulate cell cycle progression and differentiation, as well as other cellular processes.

Molecular pathology
Altered expression of S100A8 is associated with cystic fibrosis.

The NIF's plan, according to Chotam, is to undermine the Jewish character of Israel by "weakening" Jewish institutions, to transform it into a "state of all of its citizens." Chotam claims that its campaign is "exposing" the liberal Orthodox groups' "whitewashing" of the fact that they receive grants from the NIF.
