In addition to the 2 cases of unknown exposure source from 2011 and the 4 cases reported during May 2014, review of
NHSN data identified a previously unreported case of M.
A recent review of
NHSN data indicated that a relatively small number of hospitals (approximately 200) account for slightly over half of the hospital-onset MRSA incidence in excess of the 2020 goals and could be prioritized for prevention to reduce MRSA bloodstream infections nationally (
NHSN, unpublished data).
Impact of changes in the
NHSN catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) surveillance criteria on the frequency and epidemiology of CAUTI in intensive care units (ICUs).
It has been suggested that there are areas of residual subjectivity in discerning and applying the standard infection criteria from the

Federal and state reporting requirements are a significant burden-a study by Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital showed that infection preventionists spent an average of 5 hours and 8 minutes per day completing
NHSN reporting tasks (12).
It was determined that the resident had a UTI using evidence-based criteria such as McGeer, National Healthcare Safety Network (
NHSN), or Loeb in the last 30 days, AND
Resource-limited countries contributing data to the International Nosocomial Infection Control Consortium (INICC) report NICU CLABSI rates of 3-4-fold higher than those documented by the US National Health Surveillance System (
NHSN).
This report utilized the CDC's national health safety network (
NHSN) for reporting facts about patients receiving hemodialysis.
For current study, we selected HAI dataset from National Healthcare Safety Network (
NHSN) [54] of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) [55] as primary dataset (represented as
NHSN: HAI).
Lower infection rates are reported by the US Center for Disease Control and Prevention National Healthcare Safety Network (CDC/
NHSN) and the International Nosocomial Infection Control Consortium (INICC) (1.4% and 2.9%, respectively).
