NHS PASA

NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency. An executive agency of the UK Department of Health which was responsible for procuring pharmaceuticals, equipment and supplies for the NHS. Much of PASA’s work was devolved to Buying Solutions, NHS Supply Chain and the NHS Business Services Authority. It ceased operation in May 2010.

The company has also been approved and added to the National Register of NHS PASA and Pan Government Water Cooler Suppliers, which has sparked a sudden growth for the company at a time when many of its rivals have stood still.
The agreement is managed by Buying Solutions - the largest procurement body for UK public services that unifies the former NHS PASA (National Health Service Purchase and Supply Agency) which was transferred to Buying Solutions in October 2009.
NHS PASA is contacting all its suppliers and has published details of any contaminated products via its website.
A spokesperson for NHS PASA stated that the implementation of the online procurement cataloguing system is part of the organisation's strategy to put into place a national e-procurement system.
