A gene on chromosome 3q22.1 that encodes a protein kinase which plays a central role in the G2/M checkpoint response to DNA damage, controlling degradation of CDC25A by direct phosphorylation of residues—which is required for BTRC-mediated polyubiquitylation and degradation.
