PCSK2

A gene on chromosome 20p11.2 that encodes a peptidase S8 family convertase located in secretory granules and involved in processing pairs of basic amino acid residues located on prohormones and other protein precursors (e.g., POMC, renin, enkephalin, dynorphin, somatostatin and insulin).

To explore this possibility, over 360,000 randomly generated designs (all including a ground plane) were evaluated using NEC2. The distribution of the log of the scores was found to be normal, with a mean of 4.337 and a standard deviation of 0.208.
Therefore, an estimated 26,000 NEC2 runs are needed to find one acceptable solution using this stochastic search and stochastic hillclimber method.
Synthesizing the design of an antenna that is nominally circularly polarized over most of the hemisphere using a genetic algorithm in conjunction with the NEC2 has been demonstrated.
