CHST9(redirected from N-acetylgalactosamine 4-O-sulfotransferase 2)
CHST9A gene on chromosome 18q11.2 that encodes a sulfotransferase which catalyses the transfer of sulfate to position 4 of non-reducing N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) residues in N-glycans and O-glycans, a required step for synthesis of the glycoprotein hormones LH (luteinising hormone) and TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone). It is highly expressed in the trachea, and less so in the foetal lung and the adult pancreas, testes and salivary gland.
