MNS antigen systemA major family of blood group antigens, based on glycophorin A and B, which are encoded on chromosome 4q28-q31, localised on the red cell membrane and destroyed by proteases. The MNS group has 46 distinct antigens, of which M, N, S, s and U are the most important.
