KIF3B(redirected from Microtubule plus-end-directed kinesin motor 3B)
KIF3BA gene on chromosome 20q11.21 that encodes a protein that forms a heterodimer with kinesin family member 3A, tethering chromosomes to the spindle pole and aiding chromosome movement during mitosis and meiosis. KIF3B is a plus-end-directed microtubule motor protein that interacts with the SMC3 subunit of the cohesin complex; it may be involved in the intracellular movement of membrane-bound organelles.
