metoidioplasty(redirected from Metoidaplasty)
metoidioplastyA surgical procedure, generally performed after a period of testosterone therapy, which enlarges the clitoris and its extended erectile tissue—the so-called clitoral legs; the clitoris is then freed from its normal position and moved forward to approximate the location of a penis, and the urethra is extended. It is an alternative to phalloplasty for trans-gender men.
Shorter procedure, less expensive, fewer complications (compared to phalloplasty); retained genital orgasm.
The resulting penis is too small for penetrative sex; the erection is not as hard as that of a congenital or a phalloplastic penis.
