A homeopathic remedy formulated from cinnabar, the major mercury ore. Merc sol is used to treat abscesses, burning discharges, chickenpox, conjunctivitis, cough, cystitis, painful diarrhoea, fevers with chills and sweating, flu, gingivitis, halitosis, severe headaches, itching, oral thrush, periodontal disease, rheumatic complaints, runny nose, burning sore throat and toothaches.
