In the present study, we used synthetic 1-[micro]m carbon and carbon/iron particulates, designed to simulate environmental particulates of mass median aerodynamic diameter [less than or equal to] 2.5 [micro]m (P[M.sub.2.5]) that occur as airborne pollution.
