NEW YORK (CyHAN)- The one-day, high level conference on 10 July was convened to present national Ebola recovery strategy documents for Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, as well as a sub-regional Ebola recovery strategy document from the Mano River Union (Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea and Cote d'Ivoire).
The Ebola outbreak that began last year in Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia, three of the four countries of the Mano River Union, is the most severe on record since the disease was first diagnosed in Central Africa in 1976.
In the Mano River Union, this Road Improvement and Transport Facilitation Project includes the tarring of 276.35 kilometres of roads in Guinea, Cote d'Ivoire and Liberia.
Kaberuka also said the bank would strengthen its engagement in four regions that are particularly at risk - the Horn of Africa, Sahel, Mano River Union and Great Lakes and Central Africa region.
