CCL23
(redirected from Macrophage inflammatory protein 3)CCL23
A gene on chromosome 17q12 that encodes a CC-type cytokine, which is characterised by two adjacent cysteines and, as with all cytokines, is involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. CCL23 binds CCR1; it is chemotactic for resting T lymphocytes and monocytes, has some effect on neutrophils and no effect on activated T lymphocytes. CCL23 is a strong suppressor of colony formation by multipotential haematopoietic stem cells.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc. All rights reserved.
