TFAP2A was more strongly correlated with MZF1 ([r.sup.2] = 0.59; P = 1.87 x [10.sup.-7]) and less so with SP1 ([r.sup.2] = 0.46; P = 1.09 x [10.sup.-4]).
Myeloid zinc finger 1 (MZF1, also known as ZNF42) is a two-domain TF, with each domain containing four and nine zinc finger arrangements recognizing separate but similar sequences [42].
Also, the transcription factor motifs PAX5, EGR1, XBP1, SREBP1, OLF1, MZF1, NFY, NFKAPPAB, MYCMAX, NFE2, and RP58 may contribute to the pathology of Down syndrome.

They observed that these polymorphisms are predicted to affect Nrf2 ARE-like and MZF1 promoter binding sites [24].
