In order to allow the re-use of previously computed generalization, the ScaleMaster 2.0 model adds a MRDB n:m link between the initial and the generalized features.
The model used the Vector Map (VMAP) which is a MRDB providing a large variety of themes at three different levels of details: VMAP0 for small scales (~1:1,000,000), VMAP1 for medium scales (~1:250,000), and VMAP2 for large scales (~1:50,000).
We derived DCMs at three target scales from VMAP MRDB for the experimentation with ScaleMaster 2.0: 1:100,000, 1:200,000 (from VMAP2), and 1:500,000 (from VMAP1).
These results underline the possibility offered by the ScaleMaster 2.0 model to automatically derive DCMs from a MRDB, involving the use of several generalization processes.
This generic model can be filled by any generalization process and provides maps at any scale derived from MRDB source data.
