MRC1

A gene on chromosome 10p12.33 that encodes a C-type lectin domain protein which is a type-I membrane receptor. MRC1 mediates the endocytosis of glycoproteins by macrophages by binding to high-mannose structures on the surface of viruses, bacteria and fungi, so as to facilitate engulfment by phagocytes.

Csm3, tof1, and mrc1 form a heterotrimeric mediator complex that associates with DNA replication forks.
The mouse primer sequences were used as follows: adiponectin, 5'-GTCAGTGGATCTGACGACACCAA-3' (Forward), 5'-ATGCCTGCCATCCAACCTG-3' (Reverse); IL-4, 5'-ACGGAGATGGATGTGCCAAAC-3' (Forward), 5'-AGCACCTTGGAAGCCCTACAGA-3' (Reverse); CD274, 5'-GCCTCACTTGCTCATTACAGGTTC-3' (Forward), 5'-GCAGTAGCTGTCAAGGGCTCA-3' (Reverse); NOS2, 5'-CAAGCTGAACTTGAGCGAGGA-3' (Forward), 5'-TTTACTCAGTGCCAGAAGCTGGA-3' (Reverse); Mrc1, 5'-AGCTTCATCTTCGGGCCTTTG-3' (Forward), 5' GGTGACCACTCCTGCTGCTTTAG-3' (Reverse); Clec10a, 5'-GGTCGTCTCCGTGATTGGAT-3' (Forward), 5'-GGTGGTGTTGTCTAAAGTGGCTCTC-3' (Reverse); HO-1, 5'T GCAGGT GAT GCT GACAGAGG-3' (Forward), 5'-GGGATGAGCTAGTGCTGATCTGG-3' (Reverse); TNF-[alpha]; IL-6; 36B4; [beta]-actin [15].
Consistent with this, it also enhanced transcript levels of M2 macrophages markers such as Mrc1 (Figure 3(c)) and Clec10a (Figure 3(d)), while it reduced transcript levels of the M1 macrophage marker CD274 (Figure 3(e)).
Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of MRC1 have been associated with asthma in Japanese and African-American populations [31].
However, they retain the ability to induce the expression of many other genes, including Arg1, Il10, and Mrc1 [12], for example.
After about five days the more prevalent type has switched to the alternatively activated M2 macrophage (Arginase 1 (Arg1); macrophage mannose receptor (Mrc1, CD206); Macrophage scavenger receptor (Msr1, SR-A, CD204)) [97].
