ATRN

A gene on chromosome 20p13 that encodes attractin, a protein secreted by activated T lymphocytes, which is involved in early immune cell clustering during inflammation and plays a critical role in normal CNS myelination. Attractin may regulate cytokines’ chemotactic activity and play a role in melanocortin signalling pathways, which regulate basal homeostasis and hair colour.
