MCM9

MCM9

A gene on chromosome 6q22.31 that encodes a mini-chromosome maintenance (MCM) family protein required for initiating eukaryotic genome replication. Binding of MCM9 to chromatin is a prerequisite for recruiting the MCM2–7 helicase to DNA replication origins; it also binds and upregulates chromatin licensing and DNA replication factor 1 (CDT1).
