MPP7(redirected from MAGUK p55 subfamily member 7)
MPP7A gene on chromosome 10p12.1 that encodes palmitoylated membrane protein 7, a member of the p55-like “stardust” subfamily of the membrane-associated guanylate kinase homologs (MAGUK) family that are found in synapses, adherens junctions, and tight junctions; they interact with the cytoskeleton regulate cell proliferation, signalling pathways and intracellular junctions. MAGUKs are involved in tumour suppression and receptor clustering by forming multiprotein complexes with distinct sets of transmembrane, cytoskeletal and cytoplasmic-signalling proteins.
