MAGOH

A gene on chromosome 1p32.3 that encodes the mammalian homologue of the Drosophila mago nashi (grandchildless) gene which, in Drosophila, results in progeny with defects in germ plasm assembly and germline development. In mammals, mRNA expression is not limited to the germ plasm but rather is ubiquitously expressed in adults, and can be induced in quiescent fibroblasts.
