This article has briefly covered the following uses: GI bleeding scintigraphy with Tc-99m RBCs, appendicitis imaging with Tc-99m HMPAO WBCs, and cholescintigraphy with Tc-99m MAG3 for acute urinary obstruction.
Among these products are OctreoScan, an indium labeled peptide for the scintigraphic localization of neuroendocrine tumors; P-32 chromic phosphate, an approved radioisotope currently being investigated for use in therapy of various types of solid tumors and advanced stage ovarian cancer; and MAG3, a technetium labeled tracer used in the quantitative evaluation of renal disease.
Since it began selling the product in 1990, Mallinckrodt Medical has distributed the TechneScan MAG3 kit through its own network of 29 nuclear medicine pharmacies and through independent radiopharmacies across the United States.
This agreement should significantly increase the availability of TechneScan MAG3 to hospitals throughout the U.
Mallinckrodt Medical's TechneScan MAG3 is used by nuclear medicine physicians to obtain high quality diagnostic images of kidneys and the renal system.
