MADCAM1

A gene located on chromosome 19q13.3 that encodes a protein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily, which is an endothelial cell-adhesion molecule that interacts preferentially with the leukocyte beta7 integrin LPAM-1, L-selectin and VLA-4 on myeloid cells to direct leukocytes into mucosal tissue (e.g., into Peyer patches and intestinal lamina propria) and into inflamed tissues.
