EBV is a dsDNA gammaherpesvirus of the Lymphocryptovirus
genus, and it is associated with Burkitt's lymphomas (BL), Hodgkin's lymphomas (HL), nasopharyngeal (NC) and gastric carcinomas [125-127].
(11) EBV is a Group I double stranded DNA virus belonging to the family herpesviridae with subfamily gammaherpesvirinae, genus lymphocryptovirus
and species human herpes virus 4 (HHV-4).
Por otra parte, es un miembro de la familia Herpesviridae (virus herpes humano 4) que pertenece al genero Lymphocryptovirus
de la subfamilia Gammaherpesviridae.
Gammaherpesvirinae contains the genera Lymphocryptovirus
found in marine and fresh water fish and Rhadinovirus found in marmosets and monkeys.
Only 4 (17%) of 23 probes were positive for the next best predicted GenBank entry, AF534225 (Gorilla gorilla lymphocryptovirus
1); all aligned with only 1 motif.
Among Gammaherpesvirinae, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) and Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus or human herpesvirus 8 (KSHV/HHV-8) represent human prototypes of the Lymphocryptovirus
([gamma]-1-herpesvirus) and Rhadinoviru.
