STK10A gene on chromosome 5q35.1 that encodes a serine/threonine-protein kinase involved regulating lymphocyte migration by phosphorylating ERM proteins such as MSN and possibly PLK1. It downregulates MAP3K1/MEKK1 and may regulate the cell cycle by acting as a polo kinase kinase.
Defects in STK10 have been linked to testicular germ cell tumour.
