Huriet Law(redirected from Law for the Protection of Persons Undergoing Biomedical Research)
Huriet LawA law initially sponsored by French Senator Claude Huriet and passed in 1988, which provides the legal framework to protect participants undergoing biomedical research, investigators performing the research and persons or institutions sponsoring the research. The law defines covered research as "clinical trials or expedients organised and conducted on man with the objective of developing medical or biological knowledge”, similar to laws passed in other countries. It has been amended several times and now covers diagnostic, genetic and transplantation research.
