(Transco) and the Land Registration Authority (
LRA) signed last Tuesday a memorandum of agreement (MOA) that will pave the way for the former to acquire all titled properties falling within the transmission line right-of-way (ROW) corridor.
"Civilians in LRA-affected areas continue to suffer from attacks by a wide range of armed groups in addition to the
LRA, including poachers, armed bandits, rebel groups, and rogue military forces.
“As we've grown internationally, the communication tools for conducting
LRA University have changed,” said Rob Rush, CEO of
LRA Worldwide.
The
LRA is concerned about the role of its staff in this criminal syndicate, and also the ease with which banking controls were navigated to divert public resources.
The
LRA, or the Registry of Deeds as they are more known in the cities and towns, is the central depository of all land titles in the country, although other agencies have similar functions related to land titling.
Speaking about the future activities by the
LRA, the politician said that the bloc would keep to the pragmatic and constructive approach, because it supported consolidation, not division.
The
LRA posed no direct threat to the U.S., but the depravity of the group and the plausibility of defeating it created an opportunity to not only save thousands of lives in central Africa, but also send a message to potential war criminals elsewhere.
"Sudan has nothing to do with the
LRA particularly after the secession of South Sudan which represented a [geographical] barrier between Sudan and Uganda and thus
LRA presence in the Sudanese territory was no longer possible," he said.
Emerging in northern Uganda in the 1980s, the
LRA engaged in the abduction and mutilation of thousands of civilians across central Africa.
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka said that it is planning to review all of the ratings issued for finance companies by crisis-hit Lanka Ratings Agency (
LRA).
