The Ave genes most related to ADAMTS5 were ADAM metallopeptidase with thrombospondin type 1 motif 1 (ADAMTS1), fibrillin 1 (FBN1), laminin alpha 4 (LAMA4
), protocadherin 18 (PCDH18), and decorin (DCN).
However, we analyzed the data for the genes HMGA2, SERP1NB5, MYEOV, HES1, and LAMA4
using the Pfaffl method (Pfaffl 2001) because the amplication efficiencies of these genes were between 1.54 and 1.99.

, LAMB4, and LAMC1 may be related to extracellular matrix formation; while CHST3, GALNTL1, NDST4, LARGE, POFUT2, RCJMB04_28l23, and MAN1A2 are all localized in the endoplasmic reticulum or Golgi apparatus, and likely mediate the processes of carbohydrate metabolism, or posttranslation glycosylation modification.
