KOW domain(redirected from Kyprides-Onzonis-Woese (KOW) motif at the C-terminal domain)
KOW domainA protein structural motif that plays important roles in allowing proteins to interact with other proteins. For example, KOW contacts the elongation factor NusE/ribosomal S10 subunit, an interaction essential for forming rRNA and lambda (λ) gene anti-termination complexes, as well as for coupling transcription and translation. KOW also contacts Rho for transcription termination.
