KIRREL(redirected from Kin of irregular chiasm-like protein 1)
KIRRELA gene on chromosome 1q21-q25 that encodes a protein which plays a key role in the development and function of glomerular permeability. KIRREL trans-activates the transcription factor AP-1 in the presence of TEC kinases. It is primarily located at the podocyte slit diaphragm.
