CCBL1

A gene on chromosome 9q34.11 that encodes a cytosolic enzyme which metabolises cysteine conjugates of certain halogenated alkenes and alkanes, resulting in nephrotoxic and neurotoxic reactive metabolites.

Molecular pathology
Increased levels of CCBL1 have been anecdotally linked to schizophrenia.
