KPNA2(redirected from Karyopherin subunit alpha-2)
KPNA2A gene on chromosome 17q24.2 that encodes an alpha subunit of karyopherin, which plays a key role in nuclear protein import as an adapter protein for nuclear receptor KPNB1. It binds specifically and directly to substrates containing nuclear localisation sequence (NLS) motif, and it may also may play a role in V(D)J recombination.
