KCNH4

KCNH4

A gene on chromosome 17q21.2 that encodes a pore-forming alpha subunit of the voltage-gated, potassium channel subfamily H, which elicits an outward current with fast inactivation. The KCNH4 protein is brain-specific and located in the neocortex and striatum, and may play a role in excitability of certain neurones.
