CCBL1 A gene on chromosome 9q34.11 that encodes a cytosolic enzyme which metabolises cysteine conjugates of certain halogenated alkenes and alkanes, resulting in nephrotoxic and neurotoxic reactive metabolites.
Increased levels of CCBL1 have been anecdotally linked to schizophrenia.
