Kübler-Ross, Elisabeth
(koob′lĕr-ros′) [Swiss-born U.S. psychiatrist, 1926–2004]
A pioneer in the understanding and treatment of dying patients and their families. She proposed that the experience of a terminal illness involves five stages: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance.
