KDM3A(redirected from JMJD1)
KDM3AA gene on chromosome 2p11.2 that encodes lysine-specific demethylase 3A, which demethylates histone H3. KDM3A is involved in hormone-dependent transcriptional activation, spermatogenesis by regulating expression of target genes such as PRM1 and TMP1 (which are required for packaging), and condensation of sperm chromatin. It is also involved in obesity resistance by regulating metabolic genes (e.g., PPARA and UCP1).
