IL23A(redirected from JKA3 induced upon T-cell activation)
IL23AA gene on chromosome 12q13.13 that encodes interleukin-23A, a cytokine which associates with IL-12B to form IL-23, a heterodimeric cytokine involved in innate and adaptive immunity. IL-23 binds to a heterodimeric receptor complex composed of IL12RB1 and IL23R, activates the JAK-START signalling cascade, stimulates memory T cells and promotes production of proinflammatory cytokines.
IL-23 may induce autoimmune inflammation and play a role in tumourigenesis.
