All rats were treated twice a day, as follows: the vehicle control group was treated with 0.2 mL gum acacia; the reference drug group was treated with 0.2 mL intrasite gel; one of the treated groups was topically administered 0.2 mL of the 100 mg/mL plant extract; and the other treated group was topically administered 0.2 mL of the 200 mg/mL plant extract.
