INSL5(redirected from Insulin-like peptide 5)
INSL5A gene on chromosome 1p31.3 that encodes insulin-like 5 protein, a member of the insulin superfamily, which may play a role in gut contractility and thymic development and regulation. It activates RXFP4 and appears to be its endogenous ligand. It is highly expressed in rectum, less so in the uterus, and ascending and descending colon.
