DOK5
(redirected from Insulin receptor substrate 6)DOK5
A gene on chromosome 20q13.2 that encodes an enzymatically inert adaptor/scaffolding protein, which provides the docking platform for assembling multimolecular signalling complexes. DOK5 functions in RET-mediated neurite outgrowth and may be a downstream effector of RET in neuronal differentiation. It upregulates the MAP kinase pathway, and is highly expressed in skeletal muscle, less so in the brain, heart and kidneys.Segen's Medical Dictionary. © 2012 Farlex, Inc. All rights reserved.
