Information for Health

Information for Health

A health information and IT strategy promulgated by the UK Department of Health for 1998–2005, which was intended to improve access to information to enable NHS professionals to have the information they needed both to provide the best possible care and to play their part in improving the public's health. The strategy also aimed to ensure that patients, carers and the public would have the information necessary to make decisions about their own treatment and care, and to influence the shape of health services generally.
