The NHS Plan 2000 confirmed the intention to provide guidance on all aspects of NHS cancer care, and asserted that NICE would commission a comprehensive package of guidance covering all cancers, which all health authorities and NHS trusts would be expected to implement and audit through Cancer Peer Review.
