a thickening and scaling of the skin associated with some malignant diseases (for example, Hodgkin lymphoma), leprosy, and severe nutritional deficiencies.
acquired ichthyosis A generic term for any non-inherited ichthyosiform dermopathy, of usually adult onset, associated with malignancy—often Hodgkin lymphoma, mycosis fungoides, Kaposi and other sarcomas, carcinomas—infections—e.g., leprosy, AIDS, tuberculosis, and typhoid fever—drug-related, endocrine, metabolic, and autoimmune disease.
