The GAMP community is now under the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE) umbrella.
Elsevier Science (New York) and the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE; Tampa, FL) have begun the publication of the "Journal of Pharmaceutical Innovation," a new title that focuses on new and innovative methods and techniques used by pharmaceutical professionals serving all aspects of the industry, including manufacturing, applied pharmaceutical science and technology, and product understanding and control.
Manufactured from FDA compliant materials, the new system encompasses relevant guidelines and standards including ASME, BPE, cGMP, PED, ISPE and GAMP4.
This approach is described in the ISPE Good Automated Manufacturing Practices (GAMP4) Guide.
To that end, about three years ago, the ISPE board created an international development task team to advise the organization about where and how it should expand internationally.
Rodgers introduced the work of OPEN-SCS, explaining its origin as a working group of the Open Platform Communications (OPC) industry consortium, and its mission to "specify functional interoperability of packaging serialization solutions to seamlessly integrate the operations and business processes across organization and regulatory bodies, aligning with other industry groups and standards whenever appropriate." He explained how OPEN-SCS cooperates with other key groups, such as GS1, ISPE, and ISA.
