A third type of CD-ROM is the hybrid disc, which includes "both ISO 9660 and Macintosh HFS data.
After the pre-processing phase is finished, S/EAS masters the data to make it conform to the ISO 9660 standard for recording and reading data on CDs.
System requirements for Grants on Disc are IBM compatible 80386SX PC or higher (486 recommended), DOS 3.3 or higher, Windows 3.1 or higher, a hard drive with minimum of 2 MB available, 4 MB of RAM (8 MB recommended), VGA monitor, a mouse or pointing device, and an ISO 9660 CD-ROM player.
Suffice it to say that the process includes such functions as the collecting and sequencing of files to be placed on a CD-ROM, the laying out of the CD-ROM image on a hard disk, the creation of an ISO 9660 (or other standard) file format, the supplying of error detection and correction codes, and the actual writing of the files to the recorder.
Next, CD-Rchiver performs full-text indexing to facilitate data retrieval, then converts the indexed information to the ISO 9660 CD-ROM format and transfers it to a CD-R disc.
You may not be interested in recording in HFS format (unless you want to use it on die Macintosh, but why bother when the ISO 9660 standard is just as good and is used for both the Mac and the IBM).
The drives read both the ISO 9660 and High Sierra format and are multisession Photo CD compatible.
