IRF7

IRF7

A gene on chromosome 11p15.5 that encodes a member of the interferon regulatory transcription factor (IRF) family, which have diverse roles such as virus-mediated activation of interferons and modulation of cell growth, differentiation, apoptosis and immune system activity. IRF7 plays a role in transcription activation of virus-inducible cellular genes, including interferon-beta chain genes.

10) This pathway involves activation of TANK-binding kinase 1 (TBK1) and I[kappa]B kinase [epsilon] (IKK[epsilon]) followed by nuclear translocation of IRF7, a transcription factor acting directly as a transcription factor for type I IFN promoter and indirectly through its induction of type I IFN and the latter's induction of ISGF3.
On the other hand the interaction between RIP2 and TNF receptor associated factor 3 (TRAF3) induces type IIFN responses through nuclear translocation of interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) and IRF7.
Ubc13 and UevlA help catalyze the formation of Lys63 polyubiquitin chains serving as a basis for a protein complex that includes TRAF3, IKK[alpha], and IRF7.
Using tissue samples from breast cancer patients and experiments with mice, Parker and colleagues found that a gene called IRF7 is switched off in patients whose cancer spreads to other parts of the body.
IRF7 controls the production of interferon, an important type of immune protein that fights viruses and bacteria apart from tumour cells "Usually when breast cancer cells leave the breast and travel in the bloodstream and into bone marrow, the release of interferons by IRF7 will cause the immune system to recognise those cells and eliminate them," Parker said.
In cutaneous LE, activated PDCs and T cells in the skin secrete cytokines, in particular IFN-[alpha], IFN-[gamma], IL-1[alpha], and TNF[alpha], with expression of the IFN[alpha]-inducible genes IRF7 and MxA, that subsequently induce a different set of chemokines.
One of our presentations today provides insights into the mechanism of immune activation by IMO-2125 as mediated through TLR9 and the associated interferon signaling pathways involving MyD88 and IRF7," said Tim Sullivan, Ph.
We observed this effect both in vitro and in nasal epithelial cells obtained at pre-LAIV screening visits from the same cohort studied here, which showed suppressed ability to induce the expression of IRF7 in nasal epithelial biopsies after inoculation with LAIV (Jaspers et al.
Reduced expression of IRF7 in nasal epithelial cells from smokers after infection with influenza.
The stimulation of TLR7 and TLR9 with their respective ligand results in the formation of a complex constituted by MyD88, IRAK-4, TRAF6, TRAF3, IRAK-1, IKK-[kappa], and IRF7 re sponsible for the activation of IRF7, which once phosphorylated is translocated to the nucleus and regulates the expression of type-I IFN.
